Harper Adams University builds links with the Pipeline Industries Guild

Students across a range of courses at Harper Adams University are set to benefit after the University became an Academic Affiliate Member of the Pipeline Industries Guild.

The Guild is a global organisation which works as an international authority for all aspects of the pipeline industry – and its link with Harper Adams University is being welcomed by Senior Lecturer Andrew Black.

Andrew, who lectures across a range of courses in Harper Adams’ Land and Property Management portfolio, said: “Utilities and infrastructure are a multi-billion pound sector – and very much a growth industry.

“Through our link with the Pipeline Industries Guild, students will now be able to access the Guild’s technical, social, and business development resources and opportunities – as well as draw upon the global wealth of knowledge which guild members possess.

“New talent is always needed in these areas – and students across our courses, particularly those studying our Land and Property management qualifications, will now be able to both draw upon the experience of others and to share their own knowledge.”

Harper Adams University lecturers already offer their students expert advice across land and property management courses, with chartered surveyors, foresters, builders and town planners among the diverse industries staff have built careers in – with many still teaching in industry too.

Andrew added: “By drawing upon our lecturers’ expertise, the expertise of lecturers across the university’s other courses, and on the expertise of external lecturers and of bodies such as the Pipeline Industries Guild, we can continue to build the opportunities we offer to our students.
